Ah, Spring.

Written by admin on January 30th, 2012

The Georgia Festival Chorus continues rehearsing for the Spring concerts with joy and hard work. There are many new pieces, such as I Am (Hilliard and Michael W. Smith) and some old favorites like O Bone Jesu (Palestrina). To  feed the heart and soul (my favs) are a few spirituals: Set Down Servant (Shaw) and Give Me Jesus (Fleming).

A special concert celebrating our director, Maestro Frank Boggs’ 85th birthday is coming on April 15th  at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. Come join in honoring a man  whose music  inspired, consoled and delighted listeners for many years.

Come join us in one or more of our concerts listed on the Concerts tab. Include a concert in your Must-Do’s list.

It is with great sorrow that I deliver the bad news that our brother Daniel Lovich is no longer with us.  He passed away on October 14th. Please pray for his wife, Betty, the extended family, and a host of friends. He had been a long time member of  The Georgia Festival Chorus bass section, and will be missed and remembered.

Sad Endings and New Beginnings

Written by admin on July 26th, 2011

The Georgia Festival Chorus is like a caring and loving family. We are saddened at the deaths of two of our valuable members, Gene Lowe and Mark Arnold.  Our love and prayers go out to their families and they will be missed.

The chorus is anticipating another  glorious Christmas concert series this year at McEachern UMC and Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.  The chorus loves to start the season at McEachern UMC.  We will again sing with an orchestra at Johnson Ferry Baptist, so come early to get a seat. It is the best bargain in town.

Come and bring your family and friends to begin the celebration of Christmas at one or both of these concerts.

If you would like to audition for the 2011-2012 season go to the Members Page or  Contact Us  for more information.
